The Products

What Are the Different Products?

Nicotine products keep changing shape. The names are different, the packaging is different and the marketing works hard to make them feel new. The nicotine inside is the same as it’s always been.

Vapes

Battery-powered devices that heat liquid into aerosol you inhale. That liquid contains nicotine, flavorings and chemicals, including some linked to lung disease. Disposable versions are probably what you see the most, and are unfortunately harmful to you and the environment.

Nicotine Pouches

No smoke, no vapor, nothing visible. That’s a big (and dangerous) part of their appeal. They contain nicotine, sweeteners, flavorings and fillers. Some pouches carry as much nicotine as a cigarette or more. They’re now the second most used tobacco product, and only growing.

Cigarettes

The original delivery system. Still in use. Still addictive. Teen smoking is at an all-time low, which is real progress. However, the industry has been working hard to replace those lost customers.

Nicotine Use in Oklahoma

No, not everyone is vaping, but it’s still a problem we need to get ahead of. Nationally, about 8% of high school students currently vape. In Oklahoma, it’s closer to 22%, more than double the national average. Prevention now can keep that number from going up.
